Roanoke Book and Author Dinner, Friday, April 17, 2015 

The Roanoke Valley Academy of Medicine Alliance (RAMA) Foundation announces that plans are underway for the 17th Annual Book & Author Dinner to be held on Friday, April 17, 2015 at The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center.  The RAMA Foundation is coordinating this event to financially benefit area community service projects.  We look forward to a very entertaining evening as we raise funds for area non-profit organizations and the RAMA scholarship fund. The success of the Book & Author Dinner depends in large measure on the generous support of the corporate community.

A fundraising event to benefit area community service projects supported by the Roanoke Academy of Medicine Alliance (RAMA) Foundation.  RAMA volunteers will organize the event.


VIP Cocktail Party for corporate sponsors, patrons, and authors.  Seated dinner followed by authors' comments.  Autographing reception after dinner.  Book sales preceding and following dinner provided by SuzyQ.

Boys and Girl’s Clubs of Southwest Virginia, Children’s Trust (Children’s Advocacy),  Healing Arts (Carilion Clinic Foundation), and Unbridled Change (Therapuetic Horseback riding)and the RAMA Foundation Scholarship  Fund.

In the first sixteen years of this event the RAMA Foundation has raised over $580,000! 

We have provided scholarship money to more than 140 local students in training in the medical field. 

Local non-profit agencies receiving grants from Book & Author proceeds over the years include:

The Bradley Free Clinic, CHIP,  Children’s Trust, Community Outreach Program, Family Service of the Roanoke Valley, The First Tee, Greenvale School, Healing Strides, Project Access, Ronald McDonald House, Saint Francis Service Dogs, St. Francis House, Turning Point Shelter, and Unbridled Change.
